Our Procedure
At the moment, Backyard Music Idols only operates on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoons and evenings.

You may have your scheduled afternoon/evening run anywhere from 3 hours to 8 hours and must fall in the range of times listed in the business hours. Some exceptions may apply. You can discuss this when you are ready to arrange for your fun evening of karaoke with your family and friends.
Bookings must be a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 8 hours. All bookings are in 1 hour increments, example, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 hour bookings only. We will arrive about 1.5 to 2 hours prior to your start time to set up our equipment. (Some exceptions may apply)
We carry, as part of our equipment, canopies to shield the equipment from the sun and the rain, YES, we still set up if it looks like it is going to rain. With the canopies we do not have to cancel a booking due to rain. The host would have to provide shelter for their invited guests, although sometimes it can be arranged that we bring extra canopies if needed. However, if the rain does become to severe or a torrential downpour then we may have to pack it up. (This would be rare, and we have had rain events, all successful).
We had one 8 hour event that was from 8pm to 4am, heavy rain but falling straight down. We had 6 canopies setup, all tied together, enough room for our equipment, 4 banquet tables and there was about 25-30 guests present. Everyone had a good time and hardly noticed it was raining on that warm summer night.
For your backyard, as a minimum of space for us to setup, we require at least 20 square feet ideally, but have made smaller areas work one way or another. Don't forget you also need room for your guests. For 20-25 guests, an area of about 30 feet by 30 feet should be enough room for 4 tables with chairs (5-6 persons per table) including the setup of BMI's equipment. We also need to be within 10 feet of a power source.
