Backyard Music Idols got its start as a hobby back in June of 2018.
The founder,
Lloyd Bonaccorso,
started with a very basic karaoke system he picked up at a flea market.
Lloyd used to go to the karaoke bars and enjoy the company of other singers. And now, with his own system, which proved to be a big step up from those all-in-one karaoke machines you buy at any local music centre, he could sing and practice everyday.
With each passing week he added more and more equipment until his setup rivaled other setups at any karaoke bar and was ready to be taken to the backyards of other avid singers who, like himself, love to belt out a tune.
Lloyd originally preferred the smaller groups with just friends and family, and was just setting up his system in their backyards when they wanted to host a karaoke party. He wanted to let other friends and family know he was available for their entertainment and this led to the creation of business cards to hand out, which led to brochures.
Well, this was starting to look like more than just a hobby, and if business cards were needed, then Lloyd had to call his "hobby" something. Hmm, since it was about people getting their own 15 minutes of fame and becoming an idol, and it was all about music, and it was taking place in the backyard of all those who wanted to shake the cobwebs from their vocal chords, then there was only one name to be had ...

Backyard Music Idols
was born.
Now Lloyd has turned his hobby into a small side venture. His main focus is on private parties in the backyards of private residences, or indoors (if space permits) for those colder nights. Though most events take place at private homes, bookings for private events at rental halls are also accepted.
